An Eight and Sixteen Year Old's Sampler

I found these wonderful Samplers at the City of Gosnells Museum. Sorry about the poor quality of the photos they were hung quite high on the wall, and me being quite short, it was difficult to stretch up. Like you Sherri I am in awe of these old samplers, can you imagine an 8 year old stitching this today?

This looks fantastic. I think it's a shame 8 year olds don't learn this sort of thing today! I am always trying to get my two to stitch but their laptop is prefered!!

Wow, it's beautiful! This is my favorite period of girlhood samplers. Where did you find it?

I love the second one. A beautiful layout, and the sort of thiong I am trying to achieve with an applique quilt design.

Hi Joan,
Haven't been on the computer much over the last couple of weeks. Have been very busy.
I love these 2 samplers. In fact I think I have seen the 2nd one before and I also think I have a photo of it. It is beautiful. - Sandra.
