A week of KNOTS...

Faith-Family-Friends is moving along after a week of Knots. Every time I started to stitch, knots...why is that? When I never change the type of thread, needles etc.etc. Its a mystery to me, can anyone explain it? Still I'm pleased with the progress.

Hi Joan, how are you going. Beautiful day over this side of Oz.
Aren't knots a PITB. It's not so bad if they come out again, but when you can't get them lose. Well you know. I find because I usually work with 1 strand of cotton, that a product called Thread Heaven works. Or if you can't find that bees wax works. Thread Heaven is better though.
That club that you have joined looks good. Don't know whether to or not. I spend too much time surfing as it is. I'd never get the dreaded housework done and then with the taxi service that I seem to run all day. Better not go down that path. - Sandra.

Hi Joan, 28ct is fine to do over one. Also 32ct but it is a bit finer. At the moment I am doing it over 40ct which is a bit taxing. It is alright in small pieces but I wouldn't like to do a bit piece. When you do it though just use 1 strand of DMC. There is a special knack of doing cross stitch over 1. If you send me your email address I will send a link I have that might help you do it. My email address is sandra.moffitt@gmail.com.
I will have a search to see if I can find the instructions for it.
Also have you ever tried Hardanger. It is so beautiful and easy to do. If you can do the basic stitches - satin, buttonhole stitch you are set. I will also send you a link where they have free lessons and also some lovely freebie charts. = Sandra.
